Three women and a child wearing the latest fashions, 1864. The child holds a hoop and one of the women shades herself with a parasol. The centre woman's dress has a very full skirt at the back. This was achieved by wearing a crinolette, which was a half crinoline, and supported the mass of skirt material that was needed to achieve this look.
