This black-and-white photograph is one of 70 photographs housed within the casket, specifically made for them. The photographs are of objects and installations from the Exposition Universelle, 1867, Paris. This particular photograph is an albumen silver print from a glass negative (7 1/4 x 9 3/8 in.) entitled “Display of Thonet furniture at the Paris International Exposition, photographed by Auguste-Rosalie Bisson (French, 1826-1900) in 1867.
