Victorious race horses. Roman Mosaic, 4th CE, from the private baths of Fundus Bassianus at Sidi Abdallah (Bizerte region). 175x70cm. sie. The two horses Diomedes and Alcides are tied to a hollow column (the prize) with two palm branches. The horse on the left carries a millet branch, the one on the right an olive branche a signs of victory. The cylinder is a bushel used to measure grains and was therefore destined for the horses.
