Reni, Guido (1575-1642)
Separation of Day and Night c1600. Returned to the ceiling of the Library at Kingston Lacy, Dorset, after a twenty year absence. William Bankes bought the painting back from Italy in 1840 where it had been in a palazzo. Conservators Bush & Berry have removed old retouchings and consolidated the flaking paint.
