Medicine chest used by Captain Scott, 1910-1912. Made by Burroughs Wellcome & Co, this chest was used by Scott on the first part of his Antarctic expedition. Being of lighweight metal construction, airtight and waterproof, cases such of this were used by various explorers from the 1880s onwards, including Stanley, Amundsen and Nansen.
