Huang Tingjian (1045-1105)
Poem on the Hall of Wind and Pines. Section 4. In the eighth lunar month in the first year of the Chongning reign (1102), the renowned Northern Song calligrapher Huang Tingjian traveled to West Mountain at Wuchang (modern Ezhou, Hubei) and passed by places including the Hall of Wind and Pines. To record the visit, he composed an archaic poem, the contents of which describe scenery brimming with emotions. Long scroll, 32.8 x 219.2 cm.
