Bronze bowl. Found at the palace of Ashurnasirpal II (reigned 883-859 BC) at Nimrud (ancient Kalhu), northern Iraq. About 8th BCE. The bowl with an incised decoration may come from Syria, presumably as booty or tribute. Between the rays of the star are inlaid silver studs. The rows of animals around the star are schematic stags or goats. Diam. 21.85 cm. H. 2.55 cm. Inv. AN N.1.
