Wooden figure of a human-headed protective deity, Egyptian, (20th Dynasty, c1225 BC?). The long beard that the figure grasps resembles a lion's mane and is similar to the beard of the god Bes. The significance of the beard here is not clear, though long beards were associated with kings and gods.
