'Lambeth Palace', c1715. A bird-eye view from Millbank Terrace looking north-east over Lambeth Marsh towards a 'stylised' panorama of the City of London from St Paul's to the Tower of London. Lambeth Palace, seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury, is surrounded by gardens and orchards. The shipping on the river includes the horseferry which plied its trade on the site of the current Lambeth Bridge. Oil on canvas.
