The London Jewish Bakers' Union Banner, (c1900?). Trade union banner photographed in 1973, showing two men shaking hands. The baker on the right wears an apron and holds a type of shovel used for removing loaves of bread from the oven, shown in the centre of the banner. Above this is a message calling for an 8-hour a day and the abolition of night work. The banner is decorated with sheaves of wheat and bears socialist slogans: Unity is Strength - Labour is International; Workers of the World Unite; Buy Bread with the Union Label.
