Canaletto, Giovanni Antonio (1697-1768)
'Al Dolo', 1745. This lock, on the Brenta canal, Venice, Italy, was the embarkation point for boats travelling to Venice from the mainland. This is one of thirty one prints Canaletto published in an album dedicated to Joseph Smith, the British consul in Venice.
