Engraver: Enzaki Katsu. Two Kabuki actors performing a duel scene in a winter setting. The actor on the right is Ichikawa danjurô, in the role of Kumonryû shishin, a legendary character tattooed with nine dragons. The actor on the left is Ichikawa Sadanji in the role of Kaoshyôrochishin, covered with a tattoo of Kaidô flowers, from the rose family and armed with a club. May 8, 18 A.D. Meiji, 19th century.
