Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, Moscow, Russia, 1881. Designed by Konstantin Thon, the favourite achitect of Tsar Nicholas I, the cathedral was begun in 1839 and was consecrated on 26 May 1883, the day of the coronation of Tsar Alexander III. It was demolished in 1931 by order of Stalin, but was rebuilt in the 1990s. Found in the collection of the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, Krasnogorsk.
