Three physicists, c1950s-c1960s(?). British physicist Cecil Frank Powell (1903-1969) with Soviet physicists Sergei Vernov und Nikolai Dobrotin. Powell (centre) won the 1950 Nobel Prize for Physics for his development of the photographic method of studying nuclear processes, which led to the discovery of the pion, a subatomic particle.
