Sergei Yesenin, Russian poet, 1910s. Yesenin (1895-1925), one of the most popular Russian poets of the 20th century, was a member of the Imaginists, an avant-garde poetry movement that developed in Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. He committed suicide in 1925 after being hospitalised following a mental breakdown. Found in the collection of the State Central Literary Museum, Moscow.
