Some of the stokers of the battleship HMS 'Camperdown', 1896. On 22nd June 1893 the 'Camperdown' collided with another battleship, HMS 'Victoria', while on exercises in the Mediterranean. The 'Victoria' sank with the loss of 358 of her crew, including the commander of the Mediterranean Fleet, Vice-Admiral Sir George Tryon. A print from The Navy and Army Illustrated, 17th January 1896.
