The lads of the training ship HMS 'Impregnable', 1896. HMS 'Impregnable' was a second-rate ship of the line that became a training ship at Devonport in 1862. She was replaced in the role by HMS 'Howe' in 1886, with the 'Howe' being renamed 'Impregnable'. A succession of further ships served as HMS 'Impregnable' until the establishment was decommissioned in 1948. A print from The Navy and Army Illustrated, 24th July 1896.
