Aldwych and The Strand, Westminster, London, 2002. Aldwych forms a crescent between The Strand and Kingsway. The buildings on the large island between these streets includes Bush House. Built as a trade centre c1935, it has housed the studios and broadcasting facilities for BBC World Service since 1940. In front of this is the church of St Mary le Strand (1714-17) and further down, where The Strand become Fleet Street, is the church of St Clement Danes (1679).
