The Twelve Week Frost, Sandford Weir, Sandford-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, 1895. Two men standing on the gangway above the frozen weir. The winter of 1894/5 was known as the 'twelve week frost' and in February the whole of the Thames was blocked by ice flows, some 6 or 7 feet thick.
