Lytham Pier, Lytham St Anne's, Lancashire, 1890-1910. The tourist industry in Lytham grew rapidly with the introduction of a railway line in the 1840s. Lytham Pier was designed by Eugenius Birch (1818-1884) and built as part of the development to cater for the incoming tourists. It was demolished in 1960.
