The Jefferson Memorial Building was constructed in Forest Park in 1913, funded by the profits from the 1904 World's Fair held in St Louis. The building houses the Missouri History Museum, the collection of which includes items related to Charles Lindbergh's 1927 transatlantic solo flight, including a replica of his aircraft, the 'Spirit of St Louis'.
