'Bishop Gardiner reproved by Henry VIII after his reconciliation with Catherine Par', 1546 (18th century(?)). Stephen Gardiner (c1497-1555) was Catholic Bishop of Winchester at the time and had been instrumental in trying to create divisions between the king and queen, who was a Protestant. Gardiner later went on to serve as Lord Chancellor during the reign of Mary I.
