The Theseion, the agora, Athens, Greece, c1920s-c1930s(?).
The Theseion, the agora, Athens, Greece, c1920s-c1930s(?). The Theseion, the agora, Athens, Greece. An agora was a place of assembly or market place in Ancient Greece. Begun in 449 BC, this temple on top of the Agoraios Kolonos hill was dedicated to Hephaestus, the patron god of metalworking. It is also known as the Theseion because it was believed that it housed the remains of the Athenian hero Theseus.
