Two women model the latest fashions, 1863. Artist: Anon
Two women model the latest fashions, 1863. In the 1860s the fashionable shape started to change. The fashion became a flatter front but with a larger skirt at the back. This meant that the crinoline was gradually replaced with the crinolette, a half crinoline which supported the enormous skirt at the back. © The London Archives (City of London)/Heritage Images
