Palmer House, Chicago, Illinois, USA, 1910. Postcard showing a view of the north-west corner of Palmer House on the corner of State and Monroe Streets with vintage cars and a streetcar in the streets. Palmer House was a hotel in downtown Chicago. Designed by John M Van Osdel, it replaced an earlier hotel destroyed by the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. In 1923-1925 it was in its turn replaced by a new 25 storey hotel.
