A half-timbered tree house, Pitchford Hall, Shropshire, 1959. Artist: GB Mason
A half-timbered tree house in an old tree at Pitchford Hall, 1959. It is in keeping with Pitchford Hall, which is an example of a 16th-century half-timbered house. It was built in the 1560s for Adam Otley, a wool merchant from Shrewsbury, and retains its E-shaped plan. A further wing was added in the 19th century.
