SS 'Drummond Castle', late 19th century. The 'Drummond Castle' was a steamship built by John Elder & Co of Govan in 1881. Operated by the Castle Mail Packets Co, she was en route from Cape Town to London on 16 June 1896 when she was wrecked off the Brittany coast. Of the 103 crew and 143 passengers on board, only 3 people survived the disaster. Lantern slide.
