Altar, Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, Moscow, Russia, 1898. The cathedral was begun in 1839 and was consecrated on 26 May 1883, the day of the coronation of Tsar Alexander III. It was demolished in 1931 in Stalinist times but was rebuilt after the fall of communism and was consecrated again in 2000. Stereoscopic card detail.
