Eric Boon, British boxer, 1938. Born in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, Boon (1919-1981) was known as 'Boy Boon' or the 'Fen Tiger'. He won 92 of his 119 fights and was British lightweight champion from 1938 until 1944. In 1939, his fight against Arthur Danaher became the first boxing match to be shown on British television.
