Arms and gates of the City of London, c1650 (19th century(?). The seven gates in the London Wall: Ludgate, Aldersgate, Newgate, Aldgate, Moorgate, Bishopsgate, and Cripplegate. They were originally built in Roman times, with the exception of Moorgate, which was medieval. They were all demolished in the 1760s. The illustrations depict the gates as they were in c1650.
