'United States Torpedo boat 'Cushing'', 1890s. Named in honour of US Civil War naval officer William B Cushing, the USS 'Cushing served in the US Navy from 1890 until 1898. She saw active service in the Spanish-American War in 1898 after which she was decommissioned.
