'United States Armoured Cruiser 'Brooklyn'', c1890s. The second ship of that name, USS 'Brooklyn' served in the US Navy from 1896 until 1921. She played an important part in the destruction of the Spanish fleet at the Battle of Santiago de Cuba on 3 July 1898 during the Spanish-American War.
