Fountain of the Muses and the avenue of Royal Palms, Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden, Brazil, late 19th or early 20th century. The gardens first opened to the public in 1822. The fountain, made from cast iron was made in Derby, England. It was moved to the Botanical Gardens in 1895, having previously been sited in the gardens of the villa of the industrialist Henrique Lage.
