Kirkham Priory, North Yorkshire, 1999. Kirkham was an Augustinian priory founded in 1125. The late 13th-century gatehouse, which adjoins the east end of the church, is heavily decorated with heraldry, and saints and a dragon survive in niches. It is set in the peaceful Derwent Valley.
