Putney Bridge, London, c1850-c1880. The first bridge over the River Thames between Putney and Fulham, seen here, was built in 1727-9. The Chelsea Water Co aqueduct is also visible. Both were demolished and replaced by the present bridge in 1882-6. A number of boats are on the river, and an oast house stands on the far bank.
