Great Dixter, Northiam, East Sussex, 1930. Artist: Nathaniel Lloyd
Great Dixter, Northiam, East Sussex, 1930. Great Dixter from the north-east, showing the entrance porch with a little girl sitting in it, and the beams and mullioned windows. In 1910-12 Sir Edwin Lutyens altered the house and incorporated a 15th-century timber-framed house transported from Benenden, Kent. On either side of the porch are topiary peacocks, a particular interest of the owner and photographer.
