Edinburgh Castle in the snow, from Princes Street Gardens, Scotland, 1924-1926.Artist: W Reid
Edinburgh Castle in the snow, from Princes Street Gardens, Scotland, 1924-1926. The ancient stronghold of Castle Rock, an outcrop of volcanic rock, has been fortified since 900 AD. Although a tourist attraction today, the castle remains the headquarters of the Scottish Division of the British Army. It is also the regimental headquarters of the Royal Scots, Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and 5 Regiment, Royal Military Police. A print from Hutchinson's Britain Beautiful, edited by Walter Hutchinson, volume II, 1924-1926.
