Workers in the washroom facility at a steelworks, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, 1964. Artist: Michael Walters
Workers in the washroom facility at a steelworks, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, 1964. In a programme of improving the working conditions for the men who worked at the steelworks, the Park Gate Iron & Steel Co in Rotherham installed these impressive new washroom facilities in the works near Rotherham. Steelworkers can be seen using the large round communal sinks whilst a blown air hand dryer is being used in the background.
