Gas water heaters display, East Midlands Gas Board showroom, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, 1961. For the June 1961 window display in their Rotherham branch, the East Midlands Gas Board created a display to promote the use of Gas water heaters and central to this was the Ascot water heater. Some years later, the majority of these heaters would be removed as reports increased of carbon monoxide poisoning, mainly due to bad maintenance.
