Miners socialising at the miners' welfare club, Horden Colliery, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, 1964. Miners old and young playing dominoes and cards in this atmospheric photograph taken in 1964 at Horden just south of Sunderland. Horden opened in 1900 and worked for just 84 years, closing just after the miners returned to work after their year long strike.
