An absorption tower being transported by road, Dukenfield, Manchester, 1962. Artist: Michael Walters
An absorption tower being transported by road, Dukinfield, Manchester, 1962. Progress is halted whilst adjustments are made to the rear 8 wheel trailer unit as a giant 85-foot absorption tower is pulled slowly through the streets by a Foden lorry owned by Edward Beck & Son. The tower was on its way from its manufacturer, the Woodall Duckham Company, to the Coleshill coal preparation plant near Birmingham.
