An absorption tower being transported by road, Dukenfield, Manchester, 1962. Artist: Michael Walters
An absorption tower being transported by road, Dukinfield, Manchester, 1962. A giant 85-foot absorption tower is pulled slowly through the streets by a Foden lorry owned by Edward Beck & Son. The tower was on its way from its manufacturer, the Woodall Duckham Company, to the Coleshill coal preparation plant near Birmingham. A Morris Minor can be seen in the foreground with a Wolseley 1500 in the background.
