'A Radical Leader', Henry Fawcett MP, British politician and economist, 1872. Fawcett (1833-1884) was blinded in a shooting accident in 1858. He went on to be appointed Professor of Political Economy at Cambridge University in 1863. Elected to Parliament as MP for Brighton in 1865, he was appointed Postmaster General in Gladstone's administration in 1880. A print from Vanity Fair, December 21st 1872.
