Korolyov (1907-1966) was the leading Soviet rocket engineer and spacecraft designer during the space race between the Soviet Union and the United States in the 1950s and 1960s. Gagarin (1934-1968) made the first manned space flight on board Vostok 1, designed by Korolyov, in 1961. Found in the collection of the State Museum of History, Moscow.
