Refurbishment of a building, Sheffield city centre, South Yorkshire, 1967. Artist: Michael Walters
Refurbishment of a building, Sheffield city centre, South Yorkshire, 1967. The refurbishment of Oxford house, a city centre office block in Barkers Pool. The scaffolding was a common sight in the late 1960s and early 1970s as commercial units became ready for refurbishment. By the late 2000s Oxford House housed a branch of the Nationwide Building Society. A selection of 1960s cars can be seen in the photograph, including two Ford Anglias, an Austin 1000, a Triumph and an Austin Van.
