Old Tom Morris, Scottish golfer, 1901. One of the outstanding figures of early competitive golf, Old Tom Morris won the Open Championship four times, in 1861, 1862, 1864 and 1867. On his 64th birthday he remained a good enough golfer to complete a round at St Andrews in 81 strokes. Here he is seen about to play a shot from a bunker.
