The Great Hall, Warwick Castle, 1924-1926.Artist: HN King
The Great Hall, Warwick Castle, 1924-1926. Situated at a crossing of the River Avon, Warwick was first fortified in c915. William I ordered the castle to be extended in 1086. The present castle, one of the most intact medieval fortifications in Britain, dates predominantly from the 14th and 15th centuries. A photo from Hutchinson's Britain Beautiful, edited by Walter Hutchinson, Volume 4, 1924-1926.
