Rolle Aqueduct, Great Torrington, Devon, 1945. This aqueduct carrying the Rolle Canal over the River Torridge was built in 1823. Until the canal closed in 1871, it was the main transport route used by the Marland North Devon Clay Company. The canal linked the town with the navigable section of the River Torridge.
