Hammersmith Bridge, Hammersmith, London, c1860-1883. Artist: Henry Taunt
Hammersmith Bridge, Hammersmith, London, c1860-1883. The first suspension bridge, built by William Tierney Clarke in 1824-187, to link Hammersmith with Barnes. In 1883-1887 this bridge was replaced with the more ornate suspension bridge designed by Sir Joseph Bazalgette that we use today.
