West Bank Viaduct, Widnes, Cheshire, c1920. The bridge over the Mersey between Widnes and Runcorn cut 9 miles off the journey between Liverpool and London. The approach to this was a 59 arch viaduct that cut through Widnes to become one of the town's most prominent monuments to its industrial heritage.
